What can possibly taint the greatest place on earth?….AETNA. While I’m being an extremely responsible parent and taking my kids out of school to enrich their minds with churros and all things Disney, Aetna has decided to be a big giant bully AGAIN.
I have been denied coverage for the stem cell transplant due to not being on a”Qualified Clinical Trial”, and also deny expediting the appeal because MS is not “imminently life threatening”.
OK Aetna, you’re right. MS is not likely going to take my life tomorrow but guess what you money hungry thoughtless pathetic losers, MS is taking my life in a worse way, a little bit each day. In fact, today I can neither feel the top portion of my head, or my hand and it took me five times to unbuckle my seatbelt at a child’s ride. Also, if one of these lesions shows up one millimeter to the left or the right of the area in the spine it landed last time I won’t be able to walk for a while, or maybe ever again and I may be incontinent or possibly cognitively impaired. Every time I hear that from a doctor, “life threatening” seems to apply. I am so psyched we have paid our whole life for insurance coverage that is nonexistent. Once I get the procedure and am recovered I am going to start a class action suit for all the permanent physical damage and emotional stress that fighting you causes the thousands of patients that get denied for medication and trials that are fully covered by other like insurance companies.
On a brighter note, its a small world is still my favorite ride….:)
Oh, Jenny. I am so sorry that you have to deal with a bunch of money-grubbing bastards!! Seems like the only thing insurance companies want to insure is the growth of their pocketbooks. Sending love and light to you and piss into Aetna’s coffee pot!!

Grrrr …. That is so frustrating. It will work out, you know that, but jumping through hoops and following bureaucratic policies right now is not good timing. Keep hanging tough while smiling 😎
