Day 12

Hi everyone – It’s Matt filling in again. It’s harvest day! Jennie gets to sit in a chair for 10-11 hours without moving her arms as the stem cells are removed from one arm and the blood is replaced into the other. We opted for this instead of using a vein in her neck, but in hindsight that might have been a better option. She is so small that the arms take a very long time. She needs 2 million stem cells (we thought it was 20MM) or we have to stay another day and she gets to do it all over again. They seem confident, but we won’t know until tomorrow morning. We changed our flight and will hope that we don’t have to leave the airport and come back to the hospital. American Airlines wasn’t great about the ticket change. They charged over $400 per ticket to move our flight from 9:50am to 1:30pm (same day). We will send a letter and see what happens. If I had I twitter account I might tweet them! Jennie says hi, but she won’t be able to talk until later tonight and if she is tired (which I think she will be) it will be tomorrow. She is sleeping so I am going to post without letting her proof read. If you don’t see anymore guests posts you will know why!
