I hope everyone is having an awesome summer!!
It’s been a while since I have posted. I decided to take a break until I had some good news to report:). So last time I was told I had a side effect from one of the drugs called latent onset neutropenia. It was frustrating as I’m ready to be finished with this but after a few miserable shots of Neupogen (which multiply white blood cells), they were rising!! After a few weeks the doctors told me they were over 1000 so if I was careful, and didn’t get in any water I was free to go with the kiddos to Tahoe for a few days with friends as long as I had my own place. Matt was traveling so girl trip here I come. It was so awesome, and the kids had a great time! Thank you to everyone who joined in the germ crusade with me, I know some of your plans were probably altered due to that! I noticed after a few days I was getting tired more quicky but chalked it up to too much fun in the sun.
I came home last Friday and got bloodwork even though I didn’t feel like it. THANK GOD!!! My numbers had tanked to dangerous levels AGAIN for the third time. My ANC went far below 500 which actually is life threatening if you pick up an infection anywhere. They said it was critical and not to leave the house or share a bathroom etc. until we had a plan. Boohoo so I got the shot again a few days ago and had some pain in the beginning of the week but already feeling better again now. I seem to be recovering more quickly from these things. My next check is tomorrow morning. The good news is that typically as the Rituxan gets outs of your system this should rectify itself at the six month mark which is only 3 or 4 weeks away. So maybe this is the light at the end of the tunnel for me. If they do go low again then I will be getting a 4 day infusion called IVIG but I’m thinking they will stay up this time. Come on body!!
Despite having to stay home and not go in public again, I actually am feeling good and still no MS symptoms! I’m trying to do one of those beach body 30 day workouts so I don’t get out of shape. I’ve been keeping busy working on a website for a new little business I’m starting so it’s forcing me to put some time into that.
Also, I turned 39 (again) this week and guess what was one of my wishes?? To be done with this whole !@#$%^& thing;) and it wouldn’t hurt if I got out of this very “interesting” stage my hair is in.
Oh another cool thing, I was contacted by an author who is writing/publishing a new book in 2018 and asked me if I would consider being a contributor to a portion of it. He reads my blog and it has something to do about perspective. Sure!
I know I say this repetitively but that is because it’s always true. I have the nicest, most thoughtful friends and family. The one blessing I have found in all this is the realization I am one lucky girl! I’m not kidding when I say I am finding a cool way to thank each and every one of you when this is finally behind me!
