Day One.Done.

Today was a long day, I just finished up at 9pm with the MRI’s, facetimed the kids and I’m ready to call it a night. I am trying to drink a bunch of water to wash the dye from the tests out of my system just in time for the chemo tomorrow. I think a good rule of thumb here should be only one poison in my body at a time;).

I also was given a little tour of the stem cell process and the nurse explain how they separate them from the blood in the machine which looks like a dj table and then freeze them until I return. Also some good news is because I have very healthy veins (thank you to bootcamp), I may not have to extract them from my neck and instead my arm. Hope so!! The not so good news is it typically takes 4-5 hours that day (and its not a super fun 4-5 hours) but because I am smaller they will need to take mine more slowly at around 8 hours or so.You also cannot use a bathroom while connected to the machine so that’s not awesome. I’m a pretty modest person but its safe to say I may need to embrace my hidden hippie side for a few weeks. I figure at least it’s at the end of phase one so I can look forward to a few days at home after that.

I also took some cognitive tests today and let’s just say I could use a little refresher on speedy memory mental math. Does that mathletes class at the kids school accept adults?? I did well the first few but my concentration flew out the window after that. I asked her how I did and she skirted the question….lol.

I’m going to go open one of my “sunshine train” presents now. That’s fun.

Have a nice night everyone!
