Day 9

I’m half way through the shots now, that seems like progress. I got out for a short walk today, the cold air felt good actually after being in this room a lot.  My appetite is struggling but I ordered some mashed potatoes for lunch, not bad.

I decided to wear a black tank top and army green pants to celebrate my new very militant look. I had to get bloodwork again because the next two days my platelets really drop but I haven’t received a call so I am assuming everything is a-ok.

The woman who cleans the room told us a story about how her sister who lives in Bosnia got blood cancer and she ended up dying because they gave her chemo script to another more dire patient. I guess it is a reminder how lucky we are to even have the opportunity to be a part of this groundbreaking research. It isn’t fun (that is for sure) but it certainly beats the alternative. I’m pretty fortunate to be on this horribly abusive vacation;).

Thank you to mom and everyone who has had the kids or offered to take them on playdates etc. I appreciate it and I know they do too.
