Day +7

Good Morning Everyone. Stiiiilllll in Chicago.

What fun is in store for today that I can share. Looks like I’ll be getting some blood/platelets. It is so nice Virgin Mary has agreed to share those with me a third time. I’m pretty nauseous today so I am drinking a coke and its 7am. I’m getting potassium for the next 4 hours because it is staying a little too low. My hips/back/head are achy BUT I’ve been told that could be that sign engrafting is getting closer so bring on the ache because I want to get out of here.

I’m still weaning off the steroids and getting back to the non dead bloated raccoon on the road look. That is a positive. I’m also happy to report I now have reclaimed the innie belly button I was born with. Also, let’s just say large doses of steroids morph you into the absolute worst version of yourself possible so I’m fairly confident Matt is even more thankful than I am these bad boys are continuing to be tapered;).

I’m really gaining an appreciation of outside air. It’s so weird that you can’t open a window or anything. I feel sorry for anyone in solitary confinement, well maybe not anybody (depending on what they were in there for).

Thank you for all the sweet messages, pics, valentines, notes, texts, funny emails. I have no clue how I’m going to thank everyone for all of their help but I’m going to think of something fun.

OK off to tackle another day! See everyone soon.

  1. I am so admiral of you Jenny! You look great for all that steroid treatment! Gosh I think I blew up like over 200lbs and my face was like a moon face. You look beautiful dear. I LOVE that you got to share such a miraculous story and moment with that other patient ! Nothing like a little inspiration huh? You are really trudging hard and I applaud that. I go for another MRI in one week myself. I’ve had two MRI’s a CT and another MRI next week. They have to use the older machines that are not open at the end because of my implant (my mediocrt) the magnetic force on the newer machines is too high. You truly are my inspiration!!! I think of you often especially on the days I need to stay away from the school or can’t cuddle with my kids because they’re sick or have been around someone who is sick and my immunoglobulins are so low. Keep up the big fight! You’re doing great!! I’m so happy you have some good people around you! Hope to see you back soon❣️❤❤❤

  2. Dear Jennie,

We are still so amazed at yesterday’s Valentine’s Day Miracle you shared with us all! It’s just so awesome what medical advances are able to offer those with the courage to “go for it” in this age of research!!! And to give the joy and hope and quality of life back to those suffering is truly miraculous! And that smile on your face says more than you know! Glad the blood/platelets are there for you! Keep engrafting! With our love and continued prayers every day! xxoo Love the Morrises
